Posted on Oct 9 2018 - 12:47pm

It's time for our first campout of the year.

We will be camping at the Al Mack Scout House in Rush, NY. (It's located near the Rush Fire Hall.  Look for the yellow fleur-de-lis sign just before the red barn next to a gravel driveway.)  Members of Boy Scout Troop 134 will be in attendance.  It's a great opportunity to see what the older Scouts do when they camp!

Food and Fees:

Pack 134 will provide a pasta dinner with meatballs/ meatless protein, garlic bread, salad, and a Dutch oven dessert. Remember to bring snacks for Saturday and a light breakfast for Sunday (e.g. cereal, muffins, doughnuts).

Registered Cub and Boy Scouts are free, but we ask $5 per person (max $20 per family) for anyone else attending, including leaders, parents, siblings. Please RSVP on the website or email, rushcubpack134@gmail.com before 10/12.

What to bring:

If you are planning to come for the day:

camp chairs, snacks, beverages, (dress for the weather- high temps are expected to be in the mid 50's), good walking/ hiking shoes, day pack with the 5 CS Essentials

If you are planning to come for the whole event:

***Please be aware of the night temperature which are expected to be in the low 40's***

above, plus tent, temperature appropriate sleeping bags, pillows, flashlights, air mattresses or cots, toiletries, extra clothes, food for breakfast

Depending on the weather, we have three plans

1 - Setup a tent and sleep overnight (be prepared, please)

2 - Stay overnight in the Scout House. It is heated but has concrete floors and limited space.  An air mattress or cot to put under your sleeping bag is highly recommended.

3 - Make it a day trip with fun activities, dinner, and campfire. (We're looking into another overnight indoor camp out in the Spring and, then, an outdoor one, in early Summer)
