Bristol Mountain Scout Family Night Dates: February 20th, 21st & 22nd (Pick One Night) Troop 134 is going the 21st!
Package Includes: Twilight Lift Tickets Rentals (excluding helmet, which can be added for $5) 5pm Beginner Class Lesson
Cost: $35 Per Person with $1 per package sold donated to your Scout Council
We encourage you to discuss a date with your leader before signing up and come as a troop on the same night if possible. New this season is the choice for the scouting family to pick-a-night from the February dates listed above. Enrollment is now available online and the deadline is two working days prior to the date chosen.
We will be camping at the Al Mack Scout House in Rush, NY. (It's located near the Rush Fire Hall. Look for the yellow fleur-de-lis sign just before the red barn next to a gravel driveway.) Members of Boy Scout Troop 134 will be in attendance. It's a great opportunity to see what the older Scouts do when they camp!
Food and Fees:
Pack 134 will provide a pasta dinner with meatballs/ meatless protein, garlic bread, salad, and a Dutch oven dessert. Remember to bring snacks for Saturday and a light breakfast for Sunday (e.g. cereal, muffins, doughnuts).
Registered Cub and Boy Scouts are free, but we ask $5 per person (max $20 per family) for anyone else attending, including leaders, parents, siblings. Please RSVP on the website or email, rushcubpack134@gmail.com before 10/12.
What to bring:
If you are planning to come for the day:
camp chairs, snacks, beverages, (dress for the weather- high temps are expected to be in the mid 50's), good walking/ hiking shoes, day pack with the 5 CS Essentials
If you are planning to come for the whole event:
***Please be aware of the night temperature which are expected to be in the low 40's***
above, plus tent, temperature appropriate sleeping bags, pillows, flashlights, air mattresses or cots, toiletries, extra clothes, food for breakfast
Depending on the weather, we have three plans
1 - Setup a tent and sleep overnight (be prepared, please)
2 - Stay overnight in the Scout House. It is heated but has concrete floors and limited space. An air mattress or cot to put under your sleeping bag is highly recommended.
3 - Make it a day trip with fun activities, dinner, and campfire. (We're looking into another overnight indoor camp out in the Spring and, then, an outdoor one, in early Summer)
I think that it would be fun to visit Tinker Nature Park on Saturday at 12 p.m. It will be in the mid to high 40's, and if we plan accordingly and dress for the weather, it could be a great visit. The Park is celebrating the Holidays with a visit from Santa. The Homestead and Farm Museum will be open and decorated for a Victorian Christmas. It's free to all, and they are collecting non perishables for the RH Food Terminal. We'll take a short hike and fulfill some Cub Scout adventures, too.
